Weekend Snapshot

Flower meadows are tiny wonders that grow in the garden lawns.

It’s time for gardening and weekend was spend at my inlaws’ garden. They started to plow their garden in preparation for summer flowering plants. Before they started to mow the lawn I got a shot on the tiny flowers that grow together with the lawn grasses. When the grasses start to grow again these flowers will also grow with them.

I went shopping for our week supplies of groceries. When I was at the fruit and vegetable section, my attention was caught on the new exotic fruits section. I got interested to find out what are the exotic fruits displayed in there. I immediately notice this pinkish one called dragon fruit which I just heard from my mom that is very rich in vitamins especially Vit. C As I look at the price one piece costed $4, I bought 2 pieces for a try. And it tasted good!

my weekend snapshot entry no. 19

Our place is surrounded with open-cut mining which involve digging a large open hole into the earth’s surface to reach the coal/lignite. The opencast mines supply energy for the entire households and industry of this land and 29% of the country’s power generation is based on coal. Yesterday, we went to see the newly develop area and the excavator was in time working. The excavator is the world’s largest mobile machine. That have a gigantic bucket wheel excavators that dig the brown gold out of the earth. It stands 90 meters tall and 200 meters long and weighing some 13,000 tons. Around 10% of the coal is upgraded to produce solid fuels, such as briquettes, pulverized lignite and fluidized bed lignite for industry and households.
