Chit- chat
We had a small talked with my SIL while ago about her trip last week. She left the city at exactly 6 in the evening. Her two and a half air travel went smoothly. Around nine in the evening she was already sleeping on her hotel bed which has one of the most comfortable foam mattress she ever slept on. And because of that, she over slept for 2 hours! She thought she was going to be late for her meeting with a new client. But she was just on time. The meeting progressed well. Her client had a good sense of humor which made both of them feel at ease during their conversation. They close the deal the next day. After their meeting, she went straight to the nearest town for existing client’s visitation. It was a tiring day but it didn’t matter because she slept on a very comfortable bed. She just made sure she won’t over sleep again!
Kids today
Early this year, my friend got a promotion in her existing employment. She’s not the typical office girl anymore. With her new job position, she get to travel a lot, dealing with new clients, visiting their existing clients to cater to their needs and to form a corporation in San Diego. One time, her five year old nephew asked her if he could join her with her trips because he wanted to ride on an airplane. Aside from informing her that she can not attend to his needs if he’ll go with her because she’ll be very busy. She gave him an alibi that kids under 7 years of age are not allowed to travel with out their parents. But he told my friend his mom is very busy nowadays. With his desire to ride on planes, he innocently asked her if he can hide in her luggage so that they will not be questioned at the airport. My friend wanted to laugh but she didn’t want him to feel bad. So she told him to ask his mom, when she’ll not be busy, that they can go with her in the next trip. He gladly said yes and went straight to convince his mom
Grow old modestly
Getting old is one of my fears too and now a day I even catch myself getting absent-minded over the simplest things. I just prayed that I might be release from time consuming ways of philosophizing too much and boring others with my tales of woe. That I may keep away from meddling into other people’s affairs and trying to direct other’s ways. Help me to shut my eyes from envying those who have become more successful. And close my lips from idle gossip and guide me from rash-judging others. These are my prayers to help me grow graciously and willingly lend my mind, spirit and my heart to those in most need. Anyway, just wanted to share you how do I feel on getting older. This would be somewhat a new phase in every one’s life. And there are also a lot of changes to cope up. Others who have well enough prevent it by trying cosmetic plastic surgery. But for me it is better to be prepared and grow old modestly.
Young as your self-confidence
What it means to be young? Have you asked this to yourself already? Many people especially women are afraid of this and some under go with thermage. But with Samuel Ullman inspiring message, we can learn a lot. Youth is not a time of life, it is a state of mind; it is not a matter of rosy cheeks, red lips, and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of the imagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life. Youth means the predominance of courage over timidity, of adventure over the love of ease. This often exists in a man of sixty more than in a boy of twenty. Nobody grows old merely by a number of years. We grow old by deserting our ideals. Years may wrinkle the skin, but to give up enthusiasm wrinkles the soul. Worry, doubt, self-distrust, fear and despair - these bow the heart and turns the spirit back to dust. Whether sixty or sixteen, there is in every human being’s heart the love of wonder, the sweet amazement at the stars and the star like things, the undaunted challenge of events, the unfailing child-like appetite for what-next, and the joy of the game of living. You are as young as your faith, as old as your doubt; as young as your self-confidence, as old as your fear; as young as your hope, as old as your despair.
